My Favorite

The essay I most enjoyed writing is the argumentative essays.   This type of essay allowed to talk about my favorite subject which is the media.  In my essay most of the research was done in memory because the court case that I wrote about was made so massive to the public I was able to remember a lot of detail about the case.  The case I wrote about was the O.J. Simpson trail.  I think everyone remember that case. I wrote about the case because when the verdict finally came out it really bothered me.  It bothered me how the media first portrayed Simpson as an innocent man and how they use all kinds of tactics to influence the American public.  I found it disgraceful how they talked about the murder victims as if they didn’t have family and friends that loved them.
When he came out with his book “If I did it”, the “hypothetical confession book I thought it was disgusting and it turned my stomach.  Since America has a double jeopardy law he can’t be retried for the double murders.  The argumentative essay gave me a chance to at least let people see things from my point of view.  And I can bet, that majority of the people would agree that a murderer was set free.  The media can influence on whether a person is found innocent or guilty, they show us a lot of evidence then turn around and talk to these “specialist”, who then says that its not enough evidence to convict, and guess what happens, the person is usually found innocent. Case in point, the Casey Anthony case, a not guilty verdict, when we feel in  our hearts that she killed her little girl.
I can go on and on about this essay because it is my favorite, but the judicial system need to change and the way that these cases are publicized needs to change as well.
